Energy Drinks are a Short Term Fix with Long Term Implications.

Throughout the past ten years, energy drinks have increasingly allowed de-energized people to continue tasks despite what their body dictates. Previously, people relied on fruits, vegetables, and a good nights sleep for energy; however, often energy drinks are rapid acting and tasty which make them logical in a pinch. In quantities of 16oz or less per day, energy drinks can be un-destructive to one's body, but they can temporarily raise one's blood pressure. This is occurs by the caffeine in the drink raising the heart beat, and it also causes your heart to beat at an excess speed for an unusually long amount of time. Consequently, irregular heart beats can be a product of the drinks, and heart failure can occur. In serious cases, the drinks can even lead to death. However, energy drinks often have obvious advantages like a spike in energy or maximizing one's workout. In addition, energy drinks have even been proven to quicken cognitive abilities. Therefore, energy drinks can be an appropriate supplement for energy at times. Although, to escape long term implications one must bear in mind the recommended serving size, as it can attempt to keep you safe from major health problems down the road.
